Will an unpaid parking ticket hurt my credit score?
I got a parking ticket for $35 but I lost the ticket so I don't know who to pay it to. How many points will it take off my credit score? It's stupid that I was even ticketed so I'd rather not pay it off and I don't need to get a loan or anything like that right now. I'm just curious about how big of a deal this could become.Answers...
Parking tickets can drop your credit score up to 50 points if they are sent to a collections agency. In today's tough times, more and more local and state agencies are turning over debts to collectors to try to get their money. If this happens to you, the collections agency will probably quickly report the overdue account to at least one of the three major credit bureaus which will hurt your credit score. At this point, even if you pay the debt, your credit report will still show a collection that will affect your credit rating. At this point, you will need to try removing the collection from your credit report(s) or wait for 7 years if you want to get your credit score back to where it was.

I had prayed about getting better financially because literally you can't have one without the other. There is no way. There's no shortcuts to it. You can have great health but if your finances are shot, your credit specifically, then that's it. You're not going to have an actual real life.... moreCory Reeves
