How much does a foreclosure hurt my credit score?
If I have a foreclosure on my credit reports and a few late payments, will it help me to try getting the foreclosure deleted or would I need to get everything removed to have a better credit score?Answers...
According to FICO, if your credit score is 680 and foreclosure will drop your credit score by 85 to 105 points. If your credit score is 780, a foreclosure will drop your score by 140 to 160 points. Working the numbers in reverse, if your credit score is currently about 575, you can expect it to increase to 680 if you remove the foreclosure. If your credit score is currently around 630, you can expect it to increase to around 780 if you delete the foreclosure. Regardless, getting that off your credit reports will have a big impact on your score.
