Can I get a credit card for my 15 year old?

I want to start teaching my son how to use credit responsibly but I'm looking for a card where I can monitoring his spending like an e-mail alert or website I can log into.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to get your son his own card. As a minor, he is not able to enter a contract which is exactly what a credit card agreement is.

A different option would be to add him as an authorized user on one of your existing credit cards. That way you would be able to monitor his spending by checking your own statements and it will help him start building his own credit so he'll have that added advantage when he is ready to start applying for credit on his own.

If, however, you don't want him to have access to your entire line of credit, you might want to consider a pre-paid or secured credit card. Again, this would have to be created under your name with him as an authorized user, but you would have the security of knowing he cannot spend beyond predefined limits.
