What are the benefits of using credit repair lawyers?

As far as the credit repair services they provide are concerned, there usually isn't any difference. Just like with any other credit repair company, a credit repair law firm merely does for you the same things you can do for yourself. And like any other credit repair company, a credit repair law firm is still classified as a credit repair organization by the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act so they have to abide by the same rules as everyone else. The only time there would really be a difference in the services that get provided is if the law firm were to help you in a legal capacity such as if you need to sue a credit bureau or one of your creditors in order to get some inaccurate information removed from your credit reports. But you'll find that something like this is not part of the standard credit repair service and would need to be arranged separately.

This is not to say that there are no benefits to using a credit repair law firm because attorneys can be disbarred. This means that if the credit repair company they oversee abuses its clients, they have a lot more to lose. If they get disbarred, which can be done because of poor ethical practices that may not be criminal, they lose their ability to practice law. This forces the attorney to make sure their credit repair law firm operates to a high standard than some other credit repair companies.

Essentially, a credit repair law firm is not necessarily better than any other credit repair company, but you can feel more comfortable that a credit repair lawyer will be offering a legitimate service and not a credit repair scam.
