Paying for Credit Repair Services

Despite what you have heard, credit repair companies do no exist solely for the purpose of ripping you off. Reputable credit repair companies exist for the same reason any other company in the service sector exists, they perform a service. But you can do credit repair yourself screams a chorus of consumer advocates. Well of course you can do it yourself. Short of performing major surgery, name one thing you pay for that you cannot do for yourself. Granted, the law gives you the right to repair your own credit but the law also says you can grow your own food and replace your own transmission.
Credit repair is not easy. It requires time, learning, and experience. An established credit repair company, like a car mechanic, has honed their craft. They have become experts in the field and most likely, they can repair your credit more effectively than you can.
Just because you can repair your credit on your own, it does not mean that a company who offers to do it for you in exchange for a fee is trying to con you out of your hard earned money. You certainly don't believe that logic when thinking about any other industry and that sort of thinking has been extinct since the Dark Ages before the idea of specialization blossomed into our modern capitalistic economy.
You pay a kid to mow the lawn, get your oil changed at a local garage, and let some guy at Starbucks make a coffee for you because it is easier to pay for the service than to do it yourself. So why can't credit repair be the same way?
